No, I'm at a local coffee shop using their WIFI and complaining.  My next stop is the ATT store.  I've just complained on their FB page and will continue to do so for the next half hour.

I'll be curious what the ATT retail store will have to say or if they've even had others complain.  I'm sure everyone involved is working to get this fixed.  Letting them know how unhappy you are won't help it can't hurt.

When you're in your 60s & people ask you to do something, you just say "No".  No reason.  No excuse.  No explanation.  I can't wait for my 70s.  I don't think I'll even answer.   -  Jerry Seinfeld

I just got a "this is FB's problem" response to my FB comment on the ATT page.    Maybe it is, but train your reps, for heaven's sake.

Just finished chatting with carlos at the att website:  here is the major part of conversation, <>Carlos:"agentMsg">The issue is not only with AT&T network, it is with most of the broadband service, the issue is with the facebook end and they are already aware of it, they are working on it. "customerMsg">I wish someone would make a formal announcement so people would know what is going on. "agentId">Carlos:"agentMsg">I can understand your concern, however since the issue with facebook end, you will have to expect the announcement from their end.

We had a power outage awhile back that lasted for about 6 hours.  I took my tablet, phone & their chargers to McDonalds.  There was a booth with an electrical outlet.  I plugged in, got on their ATT wifi and stayed there the better part of the day.

Note: They don't care how long you sit there as long as you have their food or drink in front of you.

"The problem is reportedly due to an outage with AT&T who operates a large part of the Internet backbone."

And this is why you shouldn't waste your time 'chatting' with Carlos or any other 'chat specialist'.  I'm sorry, but they are, as a general rule, clueless.

Now home again--ATT's FB responses were not helpful at all.  I especially liked that their "service reps" sent me to a chat forum here that was last updated in May.  For heaven's sakes, it's idiotic talking with them.  I have more luck talking to the dog.

And we did stop into the store on the way home.  Let's just say they were not happy to see me.  I feel sorry for the people in the store, but working for a lousy company, you just get handed that.  I complained loudly, mentioned how many times I've contacted them, and they say they can do nothing.  The store was full of people.

I then asked how long it would take to get another ISP.  I plan on calling them every hour until this is remedied.

Private message?  Why is that?  So no one can see the complaints?  I ranted on there yesterday and mine was fixed in a couple hours after 3 days of nothing.  I do not believe it is Facebook because I could get on Facebook via wifi in my home through my laptop and phone.  If it was Facebook I wouldn't have gotten it at all.  Sure glad I don't have a contract with AT&T in case I decide to jump ship.  This is ridiculous.  4 days is way too long for anyone to go without anything when paying this kind of money for their services.

AT&T page.  This is a U-Verse thing whether they want to admit it or not.
