At random times at least once a day wifi becomes "connected with no internet access"?

This occurs randomly (this would not be a big deal but it causes my wifi based work phone calls to drop) but it does this at random times and no lights change on the router or wall mounted box. It goes into this state for anywhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes and always resolves itself. What could be causing this?

Hey @zackhobs. We'd be happy to help with the intermittent internet service you've been experiencing.

We'd recommend you start off by restarting your Wi-Fi gateway. This can help clear any data that could be causing your internet service to drop for short periods of time.

  • Unplug the power cord from the back of your gateway or modem, and if you have an internal battery backup then remove it.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Put the Internet battery back in if you have one.
  • Plug the power cord back in.
  • Wait up to 10 minutes for the gateway or modem to restart and your Broadband light to turn solid green.

Also, download our Smart Home Manager app which can help diagnose what could be causing the intermittent service.

Please let us know if your service drops at the same time everyday, or is it random times that it happens. If it's happening at the same time everyday it could be from a spike in internet usage in your area that caused it to slow down momentarily.

Let us know if these steps help.

Thank you for your response, it happens at random times and its not a loss of service because my hardwired devices still have service. It is only the Wi-Fi showing "connected with no internet service" with no error lights on my router.
