Adding a D-Link wireless router to my AT&T wireless network HELP
Prior to my U-Verse installation I had cable internet that came in to the modem, was wired to my wireless router (which serves smartphones and a Mac wirelessly) and then two PCs which were wired to the router.
With my U-Verse installation I was no longer able to have the internet hard wired to my PCs so I access it wirelessly on both using a USB device. The speeds are atrocious because of the environment and the (lack of power) in the USB adapters. My existing wireless router is no longer being used at all.
Is there some configuration that would allow me to receive the wireless signal from my AT&T WAP to my wireless router which I could then once again hard wire to my PCs?
Obviously I'm not well versed in networking and need some input from those who are. Thanks.

Hi @bluenotebacker,
You can connect your D-Link router to our U-verse wireless gateway with an Ethernet cable. It should just connect. You may need to configure your D-Link router to receive an IP address automatically, but after that, everything should just work.
Hope this helps.

The problem with connecting via ethernet cable is the physical distance required. When the service was installed the technician had to put the Gateway 2 rooms away from where my previous (cable) service was, and so it was not possible (or feasible) to run an ethernet cable from over 50 feet away.

Then the device you need is a Wireless Extender, not a router.
