Access File shares using port forwarding

I recently moved out and have ATT 1GB Fiber. Since moving out My brother needs to access shared folders on my server (Windows). What do I need to setup in port forwarding to allow this? I was thinking SMB. But I am not sure.

Hey @grimm1369. Thanks for reaching out to us, and we'd be happy to help with your file sharing question.

To get started, we'd recommend against using SMB as this will leave your data unencrypted when it's being shared. We would suggest using a service like OneDrive or SharePoint. This will allow you to share files with your brother in a more secure way.

If you need to transfer a large collection of files with a lot of data, then you can try using Rsync, which will encrypt your files to keep them safe.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I like the idea of using another service. But I think there are storage limits for onedrive. I would need to buy the 1TB of storage at a monthly charge. I would rather not setup or purchase sharepoint. The files are video files.  Rsync might be a solution, but Ill have to see, I just want this to be simple to access files as needed. I want no or little involement
