Usually when an ethernet port is blinking orange that indicates that a Gigabit ethernet device is connected in the port.

Do you continue to experience the connection instability after restarting your gateway? You can give it a try using these steps:

1. Unplug the power cord from the back of your gateway or modem. If you have: 
   • An internal battery backup, remove it
   • DSL, unplug the phone cord from your modem or gateway
2. Wait 20 seconds.
3. Put the internal battery back in if you have one. 
4. Plug the power cord back in. And, if you have DSL service, reconnect the phone cord.
5. Wait up to 10 minutes for the gateway or modem to restart and your Broadband light to turn solid green.

• What model gateway do you have? This way we can provide device specific troubleshooting. You can also use the menu on this article to find out exactly what the color means exactly.
• Have you tried connecting your computer/laptop using a different ethernet cable? If so, were you experencing the same symptoms?
