WIFI range extension

If there any way to extend the range of my WIFI without getting and extender? Extenders cerate a separate ssid and this is not acceptable. My NVG599 router does not have antennae to replace like my old router did. That worked best for me, but this hardware does not seem to allow that.

Mine is set to 100% power, so that roout is not available and the router cannot be moved because of where it comes into the house.

Thank you, but that does not solve the issue. I do not want a second network. Too many devices are attached to the existing one to do that (printer, Sonos). This was essentially the issue with the network extender I had (which burned out). Although it uses the same carrier sigbal it had its own SSID. I had to switch to HOMENET_EXT to access the network in other areas of the house and it overlapped and disrupted the main wifi. And I could not reach the printer. Our computing devices did not automatically do switch because of the overlap and my family in particular found this annoying (I did too).

Back when I had a cablemodem and a wifi router, I added better antennae and got a strong signal all the way across the house out into the yard. This NGV599 unit seems to have a very short range and cannot be incerased in reach with a simple antenna swap.

At one point I was using an Apple Tine capsule and an Apple Airport Express to do what I wanted (extended the network did not creat a new SSID)

but was told by several ATT service people that Apple products and ATT NVG599s do not work well together. So I quit using them.
