Wi-fi Issues specifically with the 2.4ghz freq.

Hi,

I first want to start by saying that we've had the same internet speed and same amount of devices for the past several years and although we've had several hiccups along the way, nothing compares to the issues we're having now.

What I'm seeing now are constant drops(no internet) and or slow internet speeds.  Looking in the router settings, there are lots of unknownxxxxx devices using the wifi frequencies.  The "xxxxx" are just random numbers and letters.  I used the Smart Home Manager to block out all of these unknown devices and I was able to identify all the devices that I own to make sure the unknown devices are not something I owned but the wifi (specifically the 2.4ghz frequency) keeps losing internet connection.  The devices do retain connection to the router but "no internet" shows up under them.  After speaking with ATT support, I was told to have too many devices.  To test this theory, I changed my settings wifi names and passwords so all devices would lose access, then I added one at a time and still noticed the same behavior of dropped internet connections when I only had just a couple of devices using wifi.  To add more to the fire,  when I "Paused" one of the unknown devices in the Smart Home Manager app, I completely lost the connection to the router which lead me to believe this Unknown device was the actual router itself??? Can this be possible?

BTW, I live in a very rural place so I don't believe any of my neighbors would come stealing my wifi signal.  There are plenty of acres of wooded land all around me before any neighboring homes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
