Wifi extender needed for Arris NVG599

I need to add a wifi extender to my Arris NVG599 for my Ring doorbell. It must be 2.4GHz 802.11 BG&N only. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I installed the Netgear AC750 Model EX6100 extender

Thank you Flemmann. Was it an easy install? I'm not techy at all and some of these forums freak me out with all the changes needed to make the extenders work.

What I used before AT&T replaced my Uverse gateway to an AC gateway was the Netgear WN2000RPT extender.  It is an N level.  It was so easy to set up.  It stopped working properly when the AC gateway was installed which was why I bought the new one.  The WN2000RPT was a reburbished one I bought off of Amazon.

the 599 has both radios... they are both hidden under the same name. You can seperate the two wifis in the routers page 192.168.1.254, but this stop devices from picking the fastest option. You could also turn on the guest 2.4 wifi and put a password on it soley for the doorbell

Thank you Maverick 13_1. Soooo, I am not tech savvy....at all, and what you just wrote is like a foreign language to me. I like the idea of the guest wifi for the doorbell. Is that difficult to do or is there somewhere I could find instructions on how to do this? Thank you again!

Here is the link that Ring sent me with suggestions of two extenders... I just wasn't sure if these both would work with the Arris NVG599. Is the 599 compatible with all extenders?

This should be a pretty good step by step... https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/dsl-high-speed/KM1048465

The device access code is written on your modem/router on a black label.

Make sure you are changing things are under the Guest Account as you no not want to interfere with your normal wifi settings
