why do my TV and computer keep saying your not connected

The TV or computer will stop and I have a message that says you are not connected or lost connection Then it will come back on in a minute or a few.. Everyday. Some days it just goes off and on for an hour or 2.

We can help you fix your Internet connection, johnmc1133.

Restarting the gateway is a good first step, since it refreshes and reestablishes the connection. Just unplug the power connection behind the gateway for ~15 seconds, then plug back in and wait for the Broadband light to turn green (if you have the BGW320 gateway model, wait for the light on the front to turn solid white).

If you're still getting this message, please give us more information so we can determine what your next step should be.

  • Does this happen at a particular time of day? Sometimes Internet traffic increases later in the day, which can cause connection trouble.
  • Where there any changes made to your setup that might've triggered this?
  • Are you using any 3rd party equipment? Sometimes having a 3rd party router connected can interrupt the connection.

We'll be awaiting your response!
