Weak Wireless NVG510

My NVG510 is giving a weak wireless signal  I'm defining "weak" by when I hold my charged Samsung phone up to it, I get 2 of 5 bars. I just noticed this when my wife asked why she was getting a weak signal in the kitchen (10 feet away and she can see the router.)

Any suggestions?

the Wired seems fine, but we only use wired for a couple of hosts in our house. (Older desktop and a color printer)

We had ATT come out a couple of weeks ago for the issue of constantly dropping / reconnecting. The tech moved our connection from a Telco box about 1 mile away to one 4 blocks away.  the dropping off dropped significantly. He did tell us that to replace the router would cost good money.
