U-Verse connection inturrupting

Hello,

I've been experiencing an issue with my broadband connection dropping intermittently throughout the day for the past two weeks.

The broadband connection drops at least twice a day and the Internet, TV, and phone is interrupted for about a minute while the modem reconnects.

This has been a repeating issue as a technician has previously replaced the modem and cable line in March of this year

My Modem is a Motorola NVG589 and the log shows the following lines:

2014-11-26T12:04:17-06:00 L3 sdb[333]: radv: enabled
2014-11-26T12:20:23-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 1
2014-11-26T12:20:23-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 4
2014-11-26T12:20:23-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 6
2014-11-26T12:20:23-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 14
2014-11-26T12:23:25-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 1
2014-11-26T12:23:25-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 4
2014-11-26T12:23:25-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 6
2014-11-26T12:23:25-06:00 L3 dnsmasq[441]: bad name at /var/etc/hosts.dyn line 15

These lines repeat throughout the entire log.

When the broadband connection is dropped the log shows this:

2014-11-26T17:53:52-06:00 L3 sdb[333]: DSL: Link drop counter 19
2014-11-26T17:53:52-06:00 L3 sdb[333]: dns_lan_redirect_notify. DOWN. restart proxy

@Anonymous Contact ATT Uverse Care on the link in my signature.

Send them a private message, on this link, and they should be able to give the help needed to solve your Uverse service connection problems. They are available M-F 8am-11pm Eastern time (also around on weekends), response may take up to 2 business days.

This is not the regular CS/TS phone people, but the social media Community Specialists that know the people to contact to get things done. I personally know as they've helped me on a DVR swap.

Include your account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on. Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply. Good luck 😉

I have the same issues within the exact same time frame.  All my equipment and wiring have been replaced with no impact on the issues.  This appears to me to be a software issue in the Motorola routers.

Even worse, today the 'mcp timer expired' and my modem reset to factory defaults.  I captured the logs showing this.  If anyone wants to see them, I can send them.   I do not want to publicly paste the full log.
