Uverse Box Making a High Pitch Noise

I've seen on a couple of other threads that this seems to be a common problem but my Uverse (gateway) box is making a continual high pitch noise.  It is not "loud" but it is very annoying.  Any suggestions how to stop this.  There are not other devices nerby and it is in an open spce on a wooden shelf.

Hi @johnyh77,

 

This is not normal for the modem. It may be time to replace it. Resetting may resolve this but could be a temporary solution.
