Since January 1, 2023, the speed has dropped to less than 10mbps from over 800mbps on the fiber connection. The download speed on the connection is over 890mbps. Is this normal?
Those speeds definitely aren't normal for fiber Internet, bacnine! Let us help you get back to the 800s!
We have an informative article here in the forums that covers how to troubleshoot slow AT&T fiber. Here are some key takeaways:
Check the speeds directly from the modem. This can help us determine if you're getting speeds from the outside fiber cable and figure out if the issue is with your equipment or the AT&T network.
Make sure your equipment can handle the faster speeds.
We also recommend restarting your gateway to refresh the connection and try to boost your speed. Unplug the power connection behind the gateway for ~15 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for the Broadband light to turn green.
I unplugged the BGW320 power for about 3 mins. The BGW320 came up fine. My Win11 desktop is connected to the BGW320's 1gbps port via a cat6 cable. Running Ookla's Speedtest from my desktop yields 924.88mbps download and 5.13mbps upload speeds. A Speedtest on 11/4/2022 yielded 924.95mbps down and 939.49mbps up. The Smart Home Manager's Speedtest shows speed to the Wi-Fi Gateway 1000mbps down and 929mbps up.
After cable and port swapping, I've isolated my upload speed problem to the Killer W2400 ethernet adapter on my desktop. My Surface laptop gets 949mbps down and 990mbps up on the wired connection to the BGW320. Thanks for the support.

there's obviously an issue either the modem or the wiring - a tech visit is what i'd suggest..
