Unable to connect Google Nest Wifi Router with NVG599

I bought a Google Nest Wifi Router because our current wi-fi doesn't provide enough coverage in our house, but I'm not able to connect it. I've also searched and haven't been able to find instructions on how to connect it with this specific router. I understand some router settings have to be changed, but I'm not sure which ones they are.

I spent almost an hour on the phone with AT&T support last night and they weren't able to help either.

I have the NVG599 router.

Thanks.

Hello @_hereinmyhead_

Wi-Fi coverage is certainly important and it's understood that you may be dealing with some drop spots in your home. We will do our best to assist you with the Google Nest device that you have acquired to resolve the issue.

The good news is that you should certainly be able to connect behind your NVG599 AT&T RG (Residential Gateway). We have many customers successfully using 3rd party routers and extenders.

You mentioned that you were unsuccessful on your search for information. Check out this article we have on our web site, relating to connecting a 3rd party router to your AT&T RG.

In addition to that page, we also have some good details here when it comes to connecting 3rd party routers. Information specific to enabling bridge mode, etc.

What  you're likely going to need to do is enable DMZPlus mode to provide IP Passthrough. You can find some "how to steps" located on this page for Configuring IP Passthrough and DMZplus.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Google IP Passthrough for your specific router.
