Static IP Waste

I have made the mistake of purchasing the useless Static IP packabe from ATT.  What ATT will not tell you is there is NO WAY to by-pass their firewall or NAT system. Even after paying for public address you will still get a different public address created by NAT. The absolute best you can do is open ports that so far has failed to allow any of the streaming media to work. The various suggestions offered in these forums do not address the FACT that the 2wire modem is designed to prevent you from sending a naked IP address to the world. You can have all the fun you want inside your network with static ips, oooh yeah I can stream videos in my kitchen on my bedroom server.

@matrixblde  Is this something that you could achieve by using a VPN service?  Many cost-effective options out there these days.
