SSL Error

It's been happening a LOT the last few weeks. I'll be on the net, browsing, chatting and suddenly I can't do anything like the net dropped out (which happens far too often too), getting a message saying SSL Error, something about certificates and connection is not private, etc etc etc, and can do nothing until it fixes itself which can be near immediate or take up to 30 minutes - like this time. Not even rebooting the modem in any fashion works to make it stop. I do in fact have one of the notorious Arris routers supplied by ATT. I'd really like to know what the real cause is and for a solution to make it stop. I'd like my net to work as it should. ATT really needs to replace these Arris routers with something different.

Hello @LadySythe

We're happy to help. Does this happen on all browsers or just one? Try going on Chrome, going to the settings, click on Advanced, then Privacy and Security, then choose which settings you want to turn off.

Don't jump to conclusions. NO. There is no solution. The event occured yesterday evening and quickly I launched all my browsers. All browsers did not work. It's like the entire internet goes out and I get SSL errors on everything. Even my cell phones didn't work as they are usually on wifi. So, it seems the issue is not my computer nor my browsers.

getting a message saying SSL Error, something about certificates and connection is not private, etc etc etc,

It might help if you posted the exact wording of the error.  Take a screen shot of it if you can or just post exactly what it says.

Certificate problems are local to the device on which they occur and have nothing to do with your "notorious" gateway (whatever you mean by "notorious", but that's off topic).   I find it a little hard to believe your phones have problems just because you have the certificate error on some other device (e.g., computer).

I know this thread is old but I’ve been looking for a solution myself to the ssl issue.  I’m not sure why it’s hard to believe that phones using the wifi are having a problem as well.  I’ll add to that.  My computer, phones AND tv streaming all on the same network are all getting knocked out by ssl errors.  So I have to believe it has something to do with the network from att.

I saw some suggestions on how to resolve the issue on a pc, but then that doesn’t explain why my phone and tv are getting knocked off as well.
