Smart home app inaccurate high usage shown
When I log into the smart home app I have 1 UNKNOWN Device that is is no longer connected never knew it was connected but it shows 1.2 T of use in just 7 days for 1 single device…when I go to my app and go under my account it says 504 total GB used for ALL DEVICES same time period. I’m Using the BGW320-500…I’ve spent days on the phone with att…
im trying to make sure my phone isn’t hacked and someone spying on me and using up data by having everything I do sent right back to them or something like that.
Help I’m going nuts.

We understand how surprised you must've been to see that an unknown device was connected to your network, MsSweetFlowers.
The first step you'll want to take is to change your Wi-Fi information to secure your network and prevent unknown devices from connecting. Follow these steps:
We also recommend that you look into AT&T ActiveArmor. ActiveArmor offers network protection for all your devices on both Ethernet and Wi-Fi (which is good for making sure your phone is protected). It detects threats, suspicious activity, and unsafe behavior while protecting your devices and network.

When it comes to the high data usage, there's not much we can do, other than suggest that you make sure there are no devices connected to your network that shouldn't be there.
Let us know if you have any other questions about your network.

Uh... Aminah... why don't you just tell him that the usage information in Smart Home Manager is not nearly as accurate at reporting usage as Poor Richard's Almanac is in forecasting the weather?
Sometimes it seems to work. Occasionally.
