Setup internet on a Xyxel C1100Z DSL Modem

Hello, I'm new to AT&T internet. I have read in a few posts here that the C1100Z can be setup for internet, but no one ever goes into any specific detail as to how. I've tried in vain for a few hours using ipsettings from the stock DSL BGW210 modem, and I can get an DSL 'connected' and Internet 'connected' status in but it seems to fail at the NTP check, which seems to leave me with no internet even though it says it's connected. Any detailed setup checklist help would be greatly appreciated. I must be missing something. The reason I would like to use the C1100z is I'm much more familiar with setting up my IPCams with forwarding and assigning ports as well as other things. I'm not very interest in learning all those things again with the BGW210, it was enough work figuring it out the first time. Thanks in advanced for your time and assistance.

Hi There @xnayyz

To start off, thank you very much for posting your question.  Now according to our information, you are unable to use that piece of equipment by itself for internet, however you can couple that piece of equipment with the current configuration.

Here is a great link that will help you set that up: IP Passthrough

Now depending on what your needs are, is that you will need to disable the WiFi on the BGW-210-700.  Then go through with the link above and set-up  the IP Passthrough in the BGW 210-700. Then you will plug in the new piece equipment in the first Ethernet port.

Now the downside of this, is our support stops at the BGW-210 700.  If you have any internet connection issues at all, you will need to go to the "bare bones" configuration, which means that you will need to unplug the new piece of equipment and then restart the BGW 210-700 and get back online through that piece of equipment and start the configuration all over again.

We do hope that this helps you. If you need anything else, please reach out to us again.
