Segregating Between 2.4 and 5.0 for Home Network Items Alexa / Lights

Please help me with segregating Home Network items between 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz.  I have been through all of the pages on the router page and don't have a clear idea of how to do it.   I have about 20 lights, security system, phone, printer, TVs, and 6 Alexa devices.   I am starting to get interference between the Alexa Grouped devices.  When I look at my info on the router, it shows that most of the items are set to 2.4 GHz.   But, it seems to me that they should be balanced to not cause interference.  My router is the Arris BGW210-700 with a date of 01/17/2021.

Thanks

On the BGW210:

  1. Go to http://192.168.1.254/
  2. Click on the Home Network tab
  3. Click on the Wi-Fi sub tab
  4. Enter your system password from the sticker on the gateway when prompted
  5. Click on the Advanced Options link
  6. Pick the SSID of your choice to change and change it
  7. Click Save at the bottom
  8. Ignore the dire warnings about fire, flood, famine and pestilence and confirm the change.

I forgot to mention that I also have about 8 security cameras using WiFi.

You can either change the SSID of the 2.4GHz radio to something different from the 5GHz radio and then point all of your 2.4GHz devices to that or, place all of the 2.4GHz in the Guest Network (which is 2.4GHz only).

Let's see if we can separate the WiFi channels for your devices, @Longhorns2010

We recommend trying the solutions provided by @JefferMC to see if they'll improve your WIFI interference.

Please let us know if that helps!
