Port forwarding not working

Until recently, I had forwarded port 6100 on my 3801HGV U-Verse router. It worked fine. I needed to change my settings and forward a different port, but now the ports wont forward.

Under Settings > Firewall > Status  it shows that the proper port is forwarded, but all outside applications (including canyouseeme.org) shows the port is not forwarded and times out.

I've tried switching back to the original setup, changing ports, etc. and it still shows that the port is not forwarded.

The firmware on those routers can sometimes get confused.  If you've returned to a known working configuration and it no longer works, record your settings and try a factory reset (unplug, hold button in back while plugging back in, release after 10 seconds).  Then try setting your configuration up again.

when your doing the port forwarding make sure to do the following, alot of times this is missed when setting up the forwarding.

That is not the issue. This is not my first time forwarding ports on this, or any other router.

The problem isn't on my side, it is likely the firmware of the router itself.

You are right. I had tried that before reading your posting, and it worked.

Seems as though the Uverse router has a lot of issues like this. If it isn't hardware related, it's firmware related.
