Poor WiFi Speed and No Service light on Pace 5268 Gateway
Since ATT moved me from 25mb/sec to 50mb/second and replaced my old Gateway/Modem with a Pace 5268, my wifi speed has been poor and sporadic, except for this desktop computer which is direct linked to the Gateway. I notice the Pace has no Service light, but the replaced Gateway had a solid green Service light. Could this Gateway be defective or might it be set for Bridge Mode (to control two networks). I have only one network in my home. Thanks in advance.

If you want to make the 5268 work similarly to your old gateway, login to the management console and disable the 5GHz radio. WiFi on Att gateways are substandard IMHO. IIRC, the 5268 uses broadband LEDs, but either way, if you're concerned about service to the gateway itself, call Att and ask them to do a line quality test for you. I'm guessing you have U-verse TV there if they installed that old gateway for you.

Thanks. I did have U-verse TV/Internet, then DirecTV/ATT Internet, now just Internet. Thanks for the advice.

Let's get your internet running better, @compyelc4!
Thanks for the great suggestions, @gr8sho!
If it's working properly through ethernet, we recommend checking to make sure your gateway is in a good location that isn't hindering the WiFi connection.
If you haven't already, you can also try troubleshooting your internet to see if it improves your internet performance.
You can fix many common internet issues by restarting your Wi-Fi gateway. Here’s how:
If this doesn't help, please let us know! We may need to take a closer look at your internet connection in a direct message.

Thank you. I have tried starting gateway many times and sometimes this works. Mostly my Wi-Fi signal is sporadic to a brand new Smart LG TV about 40 ft away from the modem. If I place my cell phone right next to the TV and do a Wi-Fi test, I achieve about 20 mb/s more. I find this strange. When you recommendation, I'll call ATT and have them do a test.

Thanks for that update, @compyelc4!
It's possible that band steering is interfering with the Wi-Fi connection for your LG TV.
You can disable this by accessing your Gateway User Interface. To do this, use your web browser and go to 192.168.1.254. You'll want to change the names of your wireless networks to something unique for each band. After performing this step, please try connecting to the 2.4 GHz network to see if you continue experiencing the Wi-Fi issues.
We look forward to hearing how it goes!

I just completed this, per your instructions. I identified my 2.4 gigahertz gate, changed the gate on my brand new LG TV from 5 GHz to 2.4 ghz. New speed test registered only half the gigabytes per second that it did at 5 ghz. I have 59 GHz per second arriving at the gateway (which is what I am paying for), but my TV is only pulling down about 9 GB per second on the 2.4GHz gate! What now? ATThas been out already but they did not change out the modem. They could not give me a logical explanation as to why my service light has not been on since getting this modem from ATT. I am about ready to change service in hopes of getting a more stable internet and potentially a lower price.

If you no longer have Uverse TV, Att can replace the 5268 with a BGW210, but frankly it’s a wash IMO. If you want good reliable WiFi, best to do your research and buy a quality trusted solution.
