Outage

There had been an outage in my area supposedly according to my app.... it’s been out for more than 24 hours now and I haven’t seen any workers in the area trying to fix it. At this point I’m extremely frustrated and don’t know what to do. I’ve been using my hotspot to get on my computer to do school work but that’s about all I can do.

Good Saturday morning @Zfish4,

It is my understanding you are not able to make or receive calls.  We definitely want to get this fixed as soon as possible.  I will be happy to offer my assistance.

Please access our AT&T Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool.  To ensure the most accurate experience we will ask you to login with your myAT&T user ID and password.

Once you have successfully signed in, please scroll down to Service/network issues > Phone calls > [Fill out the form] > Next > Voice calls (Cellular network) > Next > Cannot make or receive calls > Next and follow the on screen instructions.

If you are an AT&T Postpaid customer I have a temporary work around for you.  You can use what is called Wi-Fi calling.  Visit our Device How to page and select the make and model of your phone.  Scroll down and select Learn to use > Calling > Wi-Fi Calling and follow the instructions.

Thank you for using the Community Forums, and have a terrific weekend..

Since you have been using your hotspot, I presume you are talking about your home internet service being out, not your cellular service. So, moved your post to the Internet forum. The cause for your outage could be miles away so you won’t necessarily see anyone working on it. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do. As long as they know your service is out, all you can do is wait until it is restored. The last time my service was out was due to a cable cut a mile up the road. It took several days to restore service.
