Are you dropping connection to the Asus or is the Asus dropping connection to your Motorola?

Also, if it's the 2nd, is it just your Asus dropping connection or everything? You have your NVG589 connected to the Asus' WAN port when it's in AP mode, right?

We have an Arris NVG589 and it works without a hitch.  I bought Nancy a new computer for her birthday and it supports IEEE 802.11ac  -  does AT&T have an device to support ac and if not will  an ASUS RT-AC87U word with U-verse?

Some U-verse markets are carrying the ARRIS NVG599 and/or the Pace 5268AC gateway. Those two are AC compatible while your NVG589 is not. You likely only have a chance of one during a tech visit(which can be billable) and that's if your local techs are carrying them and you ask nicely.
