Not receiving the speed I am susppose to
Hi, I am having a problem with my internet speed. I am not getting the speed I am paying for. I have ran multiple speed tests on different browsers and different computers and are well below 15 mbps. A tech came out from AT&T and swapped routers and told me that I am at max speed available for my area. He suggested that since I play games online to switch to High Speed Cable. I appreciate the tech being honest with me and telling me that AT&T has not kept up on their lines running to my town. So at peak times the lines clog up much like rush hour on the interstate. So would getting a net gear gaming router help with my speed, or should I switch to another company? Thank you.

Getting a gaming router is likely to help you only if the speed issue is due to a wireless connection between your computer and the AT&T Gateway. If the Gateway is only capable of receiving 15 Mbps, then a better wireless router isn't going to help.
You should:
(a) Make sure you do some speed tests while connected to the Gateway via Ethernet cable. Try speedtest.net at least once, and make sure the server is nearby and a reputable network presence.
(b) Connect to your Gateway and look at your stats on the Broadband page at http://192.168.1.254/ . Look for the table with sync rates, attenuation, etc. Make a screen capture and post in a reply in this thread.

@cdouglas0218, neither your speed test nor gateway information reproduced well in your reply. You may do best taking screen shots with something like the Windows Snipping Tool and using the Photos tool of the Rich Text Editor control to place them in your reply.
