Need help setting up Pace 5268ac & WD Mycloud
I'm new to U-verse (last week signed up for internet and TV). At the same time my U-verse was installed I recieved a WD Mycloud as a gift. When I went to install Mycloud storage unit the Ethernet slot on the back of my Pace 5268ac wouldn't light up. The slot was dead. The Mycloud just blinked meaning it couldn't connect or set up. On other posts I saw that I should check my Ethernet cable, try different slots and even test a different router (still had my old router since I haven't sent it back to Cox after the internet switch last week). No slot that had the mycloud plugged in worked. Tried other cables and still nothing. The other router allowed the Mycloud to stop blinking meaning it had a connection. However, still nothing with the Pace router.
So I took to the internet. One post suggested I get an Ethernet switch, which I did. This did allow me to get a solid blue light on mycloud & an Ethernet slot on the pace rougher lit up. However, the pace router router slot is blinking organge/amber not green. All other slots (not connected to my switch) blink green. From what I have read it could have something to do with UPNP which the switch was supposed to help with. However, I still cant connect to mycloud and when I called support they said it was a WD Mycloud issue and I'd have to return it. Based on other posts in this forum I doubt that's the case. Is there anyway to get the WD Mycloud connected with or without the switch? Any idea how to turn the blinking orange into a blinking green?

@Andieto1 See if you can connect it directly to a computer, I have my WD My Book hooked up thru USB on it's own, using WD software. Then you can see if it works, just have to figure it out for LAN use then.
Also do total backups on Win 7 Backup and Restore (still available on Win10, backup horrible) weekly. 😉

Just had the exact same problem. I ended up putting a Netgear 5 port gigabit switch (GS605)between the 5268AC and the My Cloud. The switch allowed the My Cloud to talk to the 5286AC. It is a UPNP related problem in the Pace 5286. I deleted and reloaded all of the My Cloud apps on my PC, phone and tablets. My activity LED on the back of the Pace is also Orange. I have searched but cannot find what this indicates. I think the flashing orange is 1Gig and the flashing green is 100meg link speed. Reload your apps and I think you will be fine.

Thanks, I kinda thought the orange LED was a Gigabit indicator. I could not find any rear panel documentation on the 5286AC. I have been out of the business for 15 years, we had just started providing Gigabit equipment to large commercial accounts. (2001). I used a Netgear GS605 to provide the intelligence for the My Cloud connectivity. I had to reload all PC, Phone and Tablet My Cloud apps. All works well now.
Thanks, and
Good Luck.
