My wifi will just randomly decide to not working.

My wifi has been dropping randomly, even with the lights green. This has happened with 1 person on the wifi (least) and 4 people on it (most). This has only been happening since January, so it's a relatively new issue. I can temporarily fix it by restarting the modem and the other device (don't know the name), but that is only temporary.

Hello @EthanB4

We've been running into this issue a few time recently. Can I have you send me your account via PM @ATTHelp please? I believe I have a resolution for you but I need to take a look at your connection type to be sure I can access it. I look forward to hearing from you?

We would love to help you with getting your internet back up online,kaysueduncan18.

When it comes to the internet not working, it steams from your AT&T Internet equipment. We do have some quick fixes that should resolve the concern.

  1. Reboot the AT&T equipment either by unplugging the gateway or by pressing the red reset button on the back for 10 seconds
  2. Check for any "known concerns" in your area by using our outage portal
  3. If your Wi-Fi is slow, there are some great tips and tricks that we have to resolve that.

The reason why we are providing these troubleshooting articles is that, these are things that you can do from the comfort of your own home, so you can spend more time with that young one and less time on the phone.

Please try the things that are included in the articles. If they do not work for you, please reach back out here, and we can either replace your equipment or send a tech to come repair the service.

Thank for you for being the best part of AT&T and for posting on the AT&T Community Forums.
