Misled during sales pitch about Netlix
I was told by the sales rep that came to my door that U-verse turns each TV it is connected to into a smart TV. I specifically asked if there was a Netflix app. I was told emphatically "yes". Now I find out that this is absolutely not true. I understand that U-verse has its own on demand app that would be a direct competitor with Netflix. So, it makes sense why Netflix is not an option. However, I was not told the truth when I agreeed to have the service installed.
I have been a customer for less than a week and now know that the thing which sold me on this system is not available!
What recourse do I have? Is there a period of time in which I can cancel without penalty? I was duped into buying something that doesn't exist and don't think I should be punished for that.

If I'm not mistaken, you have 30 days to cancel your service without penalty.
You can call the 800-288-2020 number and say "cancel my services".
or
You can send a private message to the escalation team at ATT Customer Care and someone will get in touch with you in two to three business days to help you get a resolution to your problems.
To check for their reply, click the little blue envelope.

In my personal opinion, AT&T really has to reel these sleazy, scummy third-party reps in. These guys will say and do almost anything in order to make a sale. They thrive off people that don't check their channel lineups. If you ask them "Will I get SkyHD on the lowest tier?" they'll probably reply in the affirmative.
