Access your gateway with your browser (http://192.168.1.254) and change whatever settings you desire. If it's the default wifi password your talking about, and it's anything like the one mine had, I don't know how you could consider that "low protection" (random collection of letters, digits, and special characters). The only reason I changed mine on my NVG599 was to get WPA-PSK security (it wouldn't let me choose that with the default).

The one I have is NVG510. My password on it is numbers only. My internet security (Avast) is what let me know that it was low protection. Thank you for your help.

Is WPA Custom the same as WPA-PSK? My drop down doesn't have WPA Custom. Thanks

That's weird. According to those instructions I linked to it indicates it's there.
Is there a WPA-2 or WPA2-PSK?
