Internet is slow when it actually works

We have been without our “slow” almost impossible internet for 10 days now

the soonest as of Last Friday that any technician can come out is Aug 8th.

can anyone tell me why it would be such a long wait when there are 122 people without in our tiny little township? This is 2022 and the majority of people are using the internet for everything from work,school, church and streaming. This wait has been absolutely ridiculous and if there were another option I would most definitely opt in but this is it in our area. The service is at best shoty on most days we have NEVER received the “speed” we pay for and have complained several times only to be told it’s the best they can do🤷‍♀️
no fiber cables in our area? And obviously no technicians either? 
Anyone have any tips on this subject?

Running diagnostic scans on your internet connect using the Smart Home Manager should help you figure out why your speeds are slow.

 

You can also try optimizing your internet speeds:

 

  • Connect to your Wi-Fi home network using your desktop or laptop.
  • Close any other applications on your device.
  • Shut down any other Internet-enabled and Wi-Fi devices including tablets, smartphones, computers, game boxes, and DVRs.
  • Run the AT&T Internet Speed Test from a desktop or laptop connected through Wi-Fi to see download and upload speeds.

I will definitely try that once our service is not out but it’s been completely OUT since July 28th and no one seems to care that we can’t stream, school, work and our security system has been disabled since that date as well! The lady we spoke with assured us that on August 8th a technician would come out but that was the first available date. I contacted someone in another department at AT&T and I was told 122 people were also out and we should be up and running last Monday 😫 and obviously that was not the case! I have since contacted our local and state government offices

this is 2022 if these people want us to do everything using  the internet ,I would like to suggest that they get proper internet to the area! And Companies that actually care and will show up!
