Internet drops a few times every day

We have noticed FOREVER that our internet drops/reboots randomly a few times a day. With increased burden during quarantine due to school at home, working at home, etc., we increased internet from 12Mbs to 18Mbs. It is still happening...sometimes at 8 am with only two of us up and using internet...and in the middle of the day. No rhyme or reason. Help! It is often very inconvenient (e.g. during a work zoom meeting)!

We'd like to help with your Internet trouble. Is it just the Wi-Fi that goes down or your entire Internet? Are you connecting through a third-party like a VPN? How long has this been going on for?

We are not using a third party. Our AT&T provided router just seems to reboot randomly. And we don't know if it's a capacity issue, service issue, router issue. It has happened at 8 am when hardly anyone on our home is using it...it's also happened in the middle of the day when there's more internet usage.

HI @avereyn, we will be happy to help.

Just a few questions. Check your power source to make sure your router/gateway is plug into a wall socket and not a surge protector.

Also, make sure your router/gateway is well ventilated. Check for heat issues.

Is the lost of connection hard wired or WiFi?
