Intermittent internet issues since gateway firmware upgrade

A couple weeks ago, our gateway's firmware was updated.  Seemingly every night since then, between 1 and 3 AM, the connection drops for a minute or two.  The Service light goes out, then after a few seconds it starts blinking, and then a minute or two later it goes back to being solid and the connection is restored.  The Broadband light remains a solid green.  The regularity of it makes me think it's not some random disconnect, but it only started after the firmware update.  As best as I can tell, there isn't any outage in our area.  I think it might have happened a couple times during the day, but I mostly notice it at night.  What could be wrong?

Good morning, @DarthBrandon.

We apologize for the dropped connection after your recent firmware upgrade. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that are for a blinking red broadband light, but these steps also help resolve no service light issues too. Please try these steps and feel free to reach back out if your problem persists. We are always here and happy to help!
