I want to upgrade my internet speed.

Simple question, my family is still on an old plan of internet basic 6(45/month) and I want to upgrade internet 100 (55/month). I want to know if I can use my own router to remove the equipment fee charge so that my upgrade would not be $55 + $10 equipment charge but rather $55 w/taxes.

no... service requires ATT equipment with monthly fee.

ATT has not allowed customer owned equipment since January 2015. Then still was ATT equipment that you could purchase ($100) that was the 510, 3600 and some 5031 gateways.

These were single pair installs internet only or internet/voip service

The following have always required an ATT gateway with monthly fee

* Any account with UVERSE IPTV service

* For ALL bonded pair installs (required for faster internet speeds including 100/20 FTTN)

* For ALL direct fiber installs

* For ALL business accounts

* For any move order since January 2015 (keeping same speed at different address) new install

* For any upgrade of service since January 2015 (going from internet 6 to internet 10 has the fee)
