HPNA with a BGW210
My 5268AC appears to be going bad (at least the automated system thought so and is sending me a replacemet) with short VDSL lines drops every 2-30 minutes (about 20 over 12 hours).
The shipping email says they are sending to me a BGW210.
So what do I do to get the 5 U-verse HPNA STBs up since the unit has no HPNA (short of switching to youtube)?

The easy is call back and request the 5268… if still available as no longer receiving updates.
or consider purchasing an Ethernet to coax adapter… example

Thank you.
It was indeed a gateway failure. I replaced the gateway and all was back to normal. While it looked like it might be a line issue, the RG kept having mystery problems during the same failure period - just not all at the same time (e.g., hot to the touch, DNS proxy stopped, DHCP stopped, IGMP issues, subsequent reboots would bring up DSL but not service, etc.).
As to wireless, my STBS do not have wireless nor is my house setup to run Ethernet to 5 TVs.
I forgot I do have a spare 5268 that a technician left behind "just in case" about 3 years ago, but he was suspicious if that unit was working properly so I waited for the refurb unit from AT&T to show up.

Call back? You are so funny. It was an automated system which sent the wrong equipment to me.

I'm always suspicious of these supposed gateway failures. They may suffer from poor design, but reliability is definitely solid. I would check line quality myself by looking in the management console. I'd probably even factory reset the gateway itself if I were facing the prospect of it being replaced. If there are excessive errors listed, Att should have someone investigate.
Lastly, it is possible to run U-verse TV with Ethernet connectivity and/or wireless with a BGW210. That's how I used the TV product before I dumped it. Att and DirecTV aren't interest in the old product these days, so bear that in mind.

Would agree with gr8sho that it could be a line failure. Do go to the Broadband tab and get a screenshot of the statistics (sync rates, attenuation, noise margin, and especially error counts).
If not willing to purchase the HPNA adapter, and switching to Ethernet is not something you're willing or able to do, you could call in with neither gateway connected and get a truck rolled to fix the problem, then put the 5268AC back in while you wait. If he has a 5268AC on the truck, then he can do the gateway swap.
