How to set up new UV 5268AC as "Router Only" with Apple AE as WiFi Base Station
I have a recently moved from Charter and had AT&T U-Verse 5268AC installed for internet-only service since AT&T now delivers 45mbps service in my area. I do not use this box for TV or landline. I’m also an existing Apple Airport user (Extreme 6th Gen tower, Extreme 4th Gen, Airport Express).
Post AT&T installation, I have two wifi networks that are not playing well together. I want to continue to use the Airport wifi network, shut down wifi on the 5268AC but use it as the modem, and configure the 5268AC <> Extreme 6th Gen to deliver the most efficient internet service possible.
I can hardwire the Extreme 6th Gen in the WAN port as the base station to a 5286AC Lan port to deliver (Passthrough?) the internet signal? (I’ll also hardwire the Extreme 4th Gen to the 6th Gen to extend the wifi network).
I’ve searched but unable to find anything that refers to the specific settings on the 5268AC. I have found links for the NVG589 (ex: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5095577?start=0&tstart=0). However, whenever I access the 5268AC at 192.168.1.254, the parm settings seem significantly different and I’m not savvy enough to map them. I can take care of the Apple side using Airport, but need guidance on the 5268AC side and the interface (to the AE MAC address? Is this for hardware address that looks like xx:xx:xx:xx:27:01 ?).
I’m seeking expert guidance to ensure I get this done right. I regret that I don’t speak the networking acronyms that you smart guys do (RG, STB, HPNA, etc.) but I will be thankful for and can follow your expert guidance. Would it be possible to get links to the most effective doc and, if at all possible, the specific steps and settings for the 5286AC re-config?
Thank you for considering this!

If all you want to do is disable 5268 WiFi dual bands....
Access the gateway 192.168.1.254, go to WIFI sections and find the enable/disable portion, set to disable and save using the device code on side of gateway. As their are two frequency bands be sure to disable 5G also found lower down the page.
If wanting to do more a bridge mode type setting, the 5268 is a Pace product not a Motorola/Arri's product like the 589. Therefore looking into Pace settings ....

Thanks for the quick response. Based on your feedback, I do know that I want to turn both Pace wifi setting you mention to "off".
I -think- that I will need a bridge or passthrough capability to achieve what I want to end up with: "I want to continue to use the Airport wifi network, shut down wifi on the 5268AC but use it as the modem, and configure the 5268AC <> Extreme 6th Gen to deliver the most efficient internet service possible." I realize now that I titled this question and it should more correctly read: "How to set up new UV 5268AC as "
RouterModem Only" with Apple AE as WiFiBase StationRouter".I previously studied several posts found on the link (most of them referring to posts from SomeJoe7777), but it seemed to me that the settings discussed in https://forums.att.com/t5/Third-Party-Devices/U-verse-for-BUSINESS-2Wire-3600HGV-bridge-mode-or-another-AT-amp/m-p/2707755#M182 were for a specific, business setting and might not apply due to their security needs. But I'lll gladly give them my best shot and report back.
