guest wifi on Model IFWA-40 missing

Some months ago I had guest wifi available and chose to not turn on.  Now guest wifi option no longer appears in setup of AT&T device model IFWA-40.  How do I enable?

Greetings @sdhough!

Allow us to get you on the right track!

To have a WiFi-enabled device connected to your AWI:

  1. Open the Wi-Fi network manager on your Wi-Fi enabled device.
  2. Find and select the Wi-Fi network name (SSID): AWI-XXXXXX or AWI-XXXXXXGUEST (guest network disabled by default).
  3. When prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password found on the bottom of the AT&T Wireless Internet device.

Feel free to to review our AWI (Model IFWA-40) User Guide for more information and steps.

We hope this helps, and thanks for reaching out to us!

Thank you for quickly responding. However, the manual and the actual software interface no longer show any instructions to turn on guest WiFi. The manual does state that guest WiFi is disabled by default. It does not describe how to re-enable. I need to be able to separate my household guests from my remote work WiFi access.
thank you

Hi, @sdhough,

You may need to perform a factory reset on your device to be able to access Wi-Fi. Do this:

  1. Power on your IFWA and leave it on for five minutes so it can cycle through the power on sequence.
  2. Using a paperclip or similar object to press and hold the reset button in the back of the device for eight seconds, then release.
  3. Wait fifteen seconds for the Power Indicator to turn off, then back on.

After completing the reset, see if you can connect devices to your IFWA's Wi-Fi.

Let us know if this did the trick.

Thank you for your suggestion.  Performed factory reset.  Still no option to turn on guest access Wi-Fi access point.  Did the factory reset from both the reset button and, after that did not change anything, performed factory reset from within the application interface software.  Again, no change, no guest Wi-Fi access point is available..  Any more ideas for why this Model IFWA-40 no longer has guest access Wi-Fi visable ?
