Fixed WIrelss Internet Outage

My Home FIxed Wireless Internet stopped working last Wednesday. We have relatives in the area experiencing the same thing. I have been told by several reps that there is a cell site issue in the area that is being worked on (promised to fix it that day, etc). I've also been told it is my equipment. I don't see how it can be my equipment when several people in the area are having the same issue. The service light on the gateway is solid red and I get a browser error message that the antenna is searching for a tower. Now they are forcing a technician on me to come to my house (several more days) and all he is going to learn is that there is a local outage. Very frustrating and seemingly nowhere to turn for answers.
