Fiber speed on 2.4 Ghz

on 5Ghz speed is 350, on 2.4 it is only 8 mbps . Tested on multiple devices on the exact same spot in a room. Any thoughts?

We can help you improve your fiber speed, Stanley6011.

The 2.4 GHz radio is typically slower than the 5 GHz radio, but the difference shouldn't be that drastic -- let's do some troubleshooting.

The most common way to fix Internet speed is to restart the gateway:

  • Unplug the power connection behind the gateway for ~15 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and wait for the Broadband light to turn green. This should take 2-5 minutes.

We would also like for you to visit our article that covers Troubleshooting Slow AT&T Fiber. You'll learn about what impacts your speed and how to make sure your devices can handle the faster speeds that come with AT&T Fiber.

Lastly, make sure that you're testing your speed directly to the gateway, using the Smart Home Manager app. This will help determine if you're getting Fiber speeds from the outside Fiber cable and isolate the issue, either with your equipment or the AT&T network.

If the problem persists, please give us a few more details about your setup:

  • Are you using any third party equipment, such as a router or switch?
  • How is the speed in other areas of your home?

We'll be awaiting your response.
