Ethernet

Hello,

Ever since we got fiber and installed(by At&t) the bgw320,  my desktop looses connection intermittently.  After restarting it comes back.

"Ethernet doesn't have valid IP configuration"  and "the default gateway is not available"  show up when I run a Diag.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

Hey @prehensile. Thanks for reaching out us about the intermittent internet service you've been experiencing, and we'd be happy to help you.

To get started, we'd recommend restarting your gateway, as this can help clear any data that could be causing the intermittent internet service and then message you receive when running a diagnostics test:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of your gateway or modem. If you have:
    • An internal battery backup, remove it
    • DSL, unplug the phone cord from your modem or gateway
  2. Wait 20 seconds.
  3. Put the internal battery back in if you have one.
  4. Plug the power cord back in. If you have DSL service, reconnect the phone cord.
  5. Wait for the gateway or modem to restart and your Broadband light to turn solid green. This can take up to 10 minutes.

Also, please check to make sure that the Ethernet cable connection is secure on both ends but unplugging them and plugging them back in.

Let us know if this helps or if you still receive the same message.
