Ethernet not connected

In Network connections, ethernet is reading as network cable unplugged. Then when it connects, WiFi goes out.

We can help with your Internet issue, @Chloe5705!

Let's first try resetting your Residential Gateway by unplugging for 30 seconds and waiting at least 5 minutes for it to reconnect. While you are waiting, if this is happening on a specific device such as a laptop, please reboot the laptop or device as well.

If the issue continues, please provide a few more details so we can continue to help!

  • Is this on one device or all devices? (If one, what is it?)
  • When the Wi-Fi goes out, what are the lights on the Residential Gateway doing? (Color, steady, slow or fast blinking)
  • Do you use an Ethernet cable for any devices in the home? If so, do they continue to work when the Wi-Fi is out?
  • What do you do, if anything, to get the Wi-Fi back?

We look forward to resolving this issue for you!
