Epson Push to Scan not working

I have an Epson ET-2850 Printer/ Scanner.  My printer does not recognize my laptop, as it once did prior to the Windows 11 upgrade.

Hey @twwilli, we understand how that can be frustrating.

We recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of your device for further assistance.

We hope this helps.

Thanks for reaching out on the AT&T Community Forums.

Thanks, but I contacted Epson first.  After trouble shooting the Epson printer, they suggested I contact the router vendor (AT&T) and request the enabling of port #UDPTCP18653289 and, also, the EVENT MANAGER PORT #2968.  I called AT&T and spoke with Tech. Support.  They said it was not their problem, to call Microsoft.  I have read a thread here about Port Forwarding, but it was dated Sept. 2020 and didn't seem to work with Windows 11.

Thank you for the additional information, twwilli.

The latest update to our Port Forwarding guide was made in October 2021. We recommend trying again. Select your gateway model from the drop-down menu to get started.

If that doesn't get your printer to recognize your laptop, we recommend reaching out to the team at our paid service, HomeTech. They provide 24/7 support for a wide range of computer and networking concerns, including connecting 3rd party equipment.

If all else fails, you'll want to reach out to Microsoft to determine what may have caused this.

If you need help with any other aspect of your service, we'll be here.

Thank you for being the best part of AT&T.

Port forwarding is to enable things outside of your network to access things inside of your network.

Is your laptop's Internet connection Public or Private?

If it's public, change it to private and see if the scanner can see the laptop.

If not, there could be something in the Windows Firewall blocking the scanner but I can't give you a specific name to look for.

Just to make sure I'm clear, the Epson does print from the laptop, right?

Thank you.  Yes, the printer does print and scan from the laptop.

Ok, have you trued uninstalling the Epson software, removing it from Printers and Scanners, then downloading the Win11 driver package and doing a full reinstall?

I have uninstalled the Epson software, or driver, more than once.  I have uninstalled the Epson Scan 2 software and re-installed.  I have just gone through the Port Forwarding Guide dated October, 2021.  Windows 11 was installed in November, 2021.

Again, ignore the whole port forwarding issue.

Did you look in the Windows Firewall to see if any Epson products are being blocked?

I would like to ask the Forum if anyone has an Epson Printer/ Scanner working with Windows 11?  How can I post a new question?  EVERYTHING I put in for TOPIC is denied.  Frustrating.
