DSL out for 30 days and extended more...
It's been 30 days without dsl internet. I was told the service would be on by 1 pm yesterday, now it has been moved out to February 20th after talking to tech support. This has been the fourth or fifth time this has been extended since it started on midnight of January 16th. No one can say with certainty what is the hold up, is a repair part needing fixed on the line getting back ordered, or no staff available? I do see where AT&T is hiring field techs for my city.
There are 200 people/ businesses all out in my area I was told.
This is a disabled person's nightmare, because I'm home 24/7 due to cancer, and cannot watch TV or stream music because of no working service. Just makes me feel even more isolated from the world. I wonder if this happened to AT&T executives homes, if it would be considered an acceptable repair time frame?

You can open an FCC or BBB complaint to escalate to corporate. If you know of neighbors in a similar situation, encourage them do so as well. It may be that there's an ancient (in technology terms... more than 10 years old) component that they're having trouble getting repaired or replaced. If this is the case, there may be little they can do. On the other hand, if there's some local manager prioritizing some other work ahead of yours...
Part of the advantage to AT&T of this push to fiber is to stop relying on this old gear for new fiber infrastructure which has fewer active components and won't be obsolete for another 8-10 years. :-)
