DSL is the only option

I live on Byrnes Drive in Saucier MS.I have lived here since 2003, the only internet we can get is DSL which is about like dial=up, Download speeds measured in kbs vice MB if using the hot=spot on my phone. When is AT&T going to provide our community with reasonable internet speeds at an affordable cost? One of my neighbors was refused even a DSL account, as I have been told you are not going to support DSL any longer. They brought fiber lines to within a mile of our street and stopped.  I was also told by an AT&T employee that if fiber got here it would give us high speed, more data at a reduced cost. Is this just the companies way of milking us out of more money, I attempt to work from home due to COVID and our child cannot even do his homework without going to a friends out of our community. Seriously frustrated.

We understand how important it is to get fast and reliable speeds to our customers @kbarnette. Know that we are doing what we can to improve our service.

The best article we have would be this one. It gives some basic information, a service map, and a way to enter your address to see if we have a date on when faster speeds and services may be available. There wouldn't be more information at this time we would be able to provide.

We hope you have a good day and thanks for bringing your concern to us @kbarnette.

“AT&T prioritizes network upgrades to wealthier areas, leaving lower-income communities with outdated technologies—households with fiber available have median income 34 percent higher than those with DSL only,” the report said.

AT&T’s Decision To Kill DSL Could Leave Millions Without Broadband

A new report says despite billions in subsidies, AT&T continually refuses to upgrade low-income and minority communities to better broadband.

I read the article and all I can say is ATT is your typical corporate (Edited as per community guidelines), charging us more for less! When att does come out for service the just splice in new wires which slows our service even more. I pay for the largest fastest package available and it is a joke. Seriously shopping for options and will terminate  all our att services for good. Hello Dish Network as well.
