Delete wireless users from the RG history

I have a 2wire i38hg access point and an INID. On the home page of the router every wireless user device that has accessed the network is listed. Is there a way to clear that history. Primarily I want to remove rarely used devices (children's friends, visiting family members, other guests).

Also, can I set up a guest network using the RG? Or do I have to use another router behind the RG? I do not want to get another router just for a guest network. WIFI works fine in the house for all devices.

Hi @browndk26,

Yes, you can clear the list. To do so:

  1. Access your gateway by going to http://192.168.1.254
  2. Select Settings at the top
  3. Select Diagnostics
  4. Select Resets
  5. Choose Clear next to Clear Device List

Also, with a guest network, there is no way to do it with the i38hg, and you are correct in that you will need a secondary router to do so.

Hope this helps.

Will this reset my RG? Best to do this when no one is watching TV or recording something?

Thanks.

Thanks David T,

That worked. Two things I noticed after the clear list. All my devices have lost their names (family room DVR, wireless devices) that I had given them. My wireless access point for a wireless receiver shows on the list. The access point is not connected since I have the wireless receiver connected via ethernet cable. Is it normal for the access point to show as a device even though it is not connected or plugged in?

The names should repopulate themselves eventually. With the access point, it may still be connected in some method, or maybe it could be due to the firewall exception being made for it, but after clearing the list, the only devices that should show up on there are ones that receive an IP address from the U-verse gateway.
