Default Username for Wifi Manager

The instructions on the bottom of my router tell me to use "attadmin" (and a provided password) to access ATT Wifi Manager.  However, when I access the router login window, the User Name field is already populated with the user name "admin", and it doesn't allow me to change it. I have tried changing this username using multiple browsers/devices but the result is the same

I did just try using the supplied password with the user name "admin", and I received the message "username/password are incorrect".  How can I change the pre-populated username?  Thanks

If the User Name field is already populated with "admin" and you're unable to change it, it's likely that the router's login credentials have been changed from the default "attadmin" to "admin".

In order to access ATT Wifi Manager, you'll need to use the updated username and password. If you've forgotten or don't know the updated login credentials, you can try resetting the router to its factory settings. This will restore the default login credentials, but keep in mind that this will also erase any custom settings or configurations that you may have made.

To reset your router to its factory settings, locate the reset button on the back of the router (it may be a small hole with a button inside). Use a paper clip or similar object to press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds, until the router's lights flash. The router will then reset to its factory settings, and you should be able to log in using the default credentials "attadmin" and the default password provided on the router label.

I think the router may have a default username and password set by the manufacturer. Sometimes these default credentials cannot be changed, or changing them requires a factory reset of the router.

To access the ATT Wifi Manager, you may need to use the default username and password specified by ATT. Try using "attadmin" as the username and the password provided by ATT. If that doesn't work, you could try using the default username and password for the router manufacturer. You can usually find this information by doing a web search for the router model number and "default username and password".

If neither of these options work, you may need to contact ATT customer support for assistance. They should be able to provide you with the correct login credentials or walk you through resetting the router.

Hi jgrif69607, we'd be glad to help you change the details of your Wi-Fi service.

So that we can better assist you, please let us know if you're referring to Wireless Internet or Broadband Internet? We ask because the AT&T Wi-Fi Manager is a feature of Wireless Internet, and we want to make sure we give you accurate information.

We'll be awaiting your response!

Thank you for providing those details, jgrif69607. Here's what you need to do to change the default username of your Netgear MR1100.

If you're not receiving service on your device then chances are you will need to visit your nearest AT&T Store to activate your service. You can choose from any of the AT&T PREPAID Data-only plans in the table Prepaid data plans at a glance when you visit AT&T Data-only PREPAID plan.

Once you're all set up at the store you can activate your service at AT&T PREPAID. From this page, you can check data balance, buy a data Add-On, make a payment, reset your password, and more.

Let's meet in a Direct Message (DM) to look closer into this for you. Please check your Direct Message Inbox for a message being sent to you. Look for the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums

Our reply will be waiting for you there.
