Constant Internet Issues

Why does my home experience such frequent problems with internet connectivity? And why can't the tech do testing at the point of demarcation without me being home? The problem is NEVER in my house. I've wasted so much personal time and annual leave from work on these issues over the years. My problem is that I have no other options, or I would have cancelled years ago because of these continuous problems. I'm frustrated.

I'd like to add that I really think it's an ageing infrastructure problem because it's gotten worse over the last 15 years that I've been a customer at my current address. I'm in a rural/suburban area, so I certainly don't expect the best and fastest service. But I do expect to get what I pay for, and I expect it to be reliable. Neither of those expectations is being met.
