Connecting your Sharp TV to WiFi

Connecting your Sharp TV to WiFi

Make sure you have your WiFi information.
If you do not have it, you can find it here.

  1. Hit the Menu button on your Sharp TV remote.
  2. Select Internet Setup Network Setup Connection Type.
  3. Select Wireless for connection type.
  4. Select Wireless Setup > Change Search.
  5. Select your WiFi network.
  6. Enter your network password.

Connection Issues

If you do not see your wireless network, try:
Restarting your TV and router.
Make sure there are no devices around that can cause interference.
Troubleshoot your wireless connection.
If you see other networks but not your AT&T network, try a manual connection. To do so:
Follow the above steps to get to Network Setup.

  1. Select Manual Setup.
  2. Select Registering Wireless Network.
  3. Enter the information for your wireless network.
  4. For the IP, if you have not changed your default settings on your U-verse gateway, use 192.168.1.x (where x is a number between 1 and 253 that is not in use on your network, and use 192.168.1.254 for the default gateway. For the DNS use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

One of my tv's is an older Sharp.  I am trying to connect it to AT&T TV.  I have my other tv connected with no problem but the Sharp tv does not have an HDMI port. I spoke with a tech rep yesterday and she told me to buy an HDMI to Composite AV Adaptor and connect that to AT&T wire and this should fix the problem so that my tv will accept the connection. I am getting a blue light on my equipment but a flashing red light which I understand this to be that this tv is not getting the internet for some reason.  I don't know what I did wrong but everything I have tried it is still doing the same thing.  Any suggestion?  Also when I turn on tv I am just getting a bright blue screen on channel 2. nothing on other input stations.
