Connect to AT&T gateway through LAN when it is in IP Passthrough mode
I am trying to install my own wireless router in Passthrough mode with AT&T gateway. My AT&T gateway has 4 ethernet ports so I was planning to run 1 ethernet cable from the gateway to my wireless router and set that device in passthrough mode. Can I use the remaining 3 ports on the gateway to run hard line connections to my other room and connect devices to it directly? I am aware that the wireless router will be on the WAN IP so I am not worried about my devices on the LAN IP which are directly connected to the gateway will not be able to see the devices connected to the wireless router.
Will this configuration work?

Yes. It will work. Your additional devices connected to the Ethernet ports (or WiFi) on the gateway will receive private addresses (e.g. 192.168.1.x) from the GW. It works fine.
Depending on your router's firewall rules, you may or may not be able to talk to these devices from inside your second router. A standard firewall rule would drop packets to private space on a public adapter.
