change username and password on the modem/router installed by AT&T
I want to change the username and password for the modem/router installed by AT&T in our home. Someone may have accessed to our password you see. What kind of risks are there if others know these info?

Good Morning @bahaykubo,
Welcome to the Community Forums! I understand you would like to change your password and username on your modem. I will be happy to assist you with this.
On our website, we have a great resource called our Troublshoot & Resolve Tool. When you click on the hyperlink I sent you; the page you will be brought too is our internet page. On the last column of subjects, click on on Change Password. It will ask you to sign into your account, and you will be able to proceed from there.
If someone has your password for your modem, it means they have access to your Wi-Fi. They would have to be in the area of your house to use it. When you change your password, the person will not have access to your network anymore.
I hope this helps. Have a great day.

Access your gateway through your browser (192.168.1.254), navigate to its wifi section, and change the ssid/password. If it's a dual band gateway (e.g., NVG599, 5268ac, BGW210) then be sure you change both the 2.4 and 5GHz radio's ssid/passwords.
