Carrier Infinity Thermostat no internet
My Carrier infinity thermostat model number SYSTXCCIT01-B will connect to my network but will not recognise the internet connection. I have contact Carrier Tec support and had a technician they tell me it is an ATT problem?
Anyone have an answer why a thermostat will connect to the network but not the internet.
CARRIER Drops me like a hot potato!!

does it require a 2,4 ghz wireless connection? and is your router a dual band both 2.4 and 5 ?

What @Constructive said. Most smart thermostats use the 2.4GHz band so you either need a good dual-band router or you need to assign a different SSID to the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands and point your thermostat to the appropriate one.

I am running a dual band router both 2.4 and 5. When I look up the Mac Address of the thermostat on the device list of the network it shows it is connected to the 2.4GHz band? The router is a BGW210-700

they will still fight give each band its own unique name and passwords

The bands are combined only one password and one network name

@Helpme68 So? Just give them different SSIDs and pw's. Some routers just work better than others in situations like this.

Right then my Hue light bulbs all get confused and my google assistant goes nuts?
You know if Carrier wants to compete with the big tech boys they should get their stuff together first.

@Helpme68 We have a Trane (Nexia thermostat) and it has no problems at all connecting to the 2.4Ghz band on our mesh WiFi system. Previously we had a Nest with our old HVAC system and it had no issues connecting either. Didn't have to separate the bands or assign different names. In fact, the same is true for all of our WiFi devices whether they use 2.4GHz or 5Ghz.

I had the same problem with my Carrier Infinity SYSTXCCIT01-B and AT&T's BGW210 router.
The router (and thermostat) showed that the thermostat was connecting to the router,
but would immediately drop the connection. The router registered the MAC address of the
thermostat, but never assigned it a DHCP address.
I finally solved it by changing the config on the AT&T BGW210 router in the Wifi/Advanced
configuration section from 2.4 GHZ A/B/N to A/B. This Carrier thermostat supports only 2.4 GHz B,
and supposedly the A/B/N configuration should handle all three of the 2.4 GHz protocols,
but the router setting for A/B/N caused the above symptoms.
Once I changed the 2.4 GHz router setting to A/B, it works reliably.
I am using thermostat software version 131623-04.31.
