Cannot connect to the game Final Fantasy XV

The BGW210-700 router is blocking my access to my favorite game, Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire.

When my iPad is connected to my home wireless network, I can get anywhere else on the internet I wish.

But when I try to play this game on my iPad connected to my home wireless network it will not let me connect to the game.

However, I can connect my iPad to a different wireless network and play the game just fine.

Thus it must be a problem with my home wireless network.

And as I am getting great signal strength and I am a developer and network engineer I know it must be that the router is doing or not doing something ( like blocking a port or not passing some type of packets) that prevents the game from working.

We're here to help, @Gamer57!

Can you let us know what type of troubleshooting you've attempted so far regarding this?

We'd recommend checking out your BGW210's Security Settings- it could be being blocked from there. To get to the BGW210 page, just click on button under "Modem/Gateway" and select BGW210.

Let us know how this goes- we'll be here to help!

I tried the suggestion below, and I have also tried opening all the ports to my iPad that it would allow me to open but unfortunately nothing worked.
I even tried using the "Guest" Wi-Fi with as little security to the internet as possible but that did not work either.

Is there some way of getting a technician out to my house to investigate this?

While this is my home, I have been in Denver Colorado for work for several years, during which AT&T switch out my router when they moved away from U-verse.
During my visits home it was not that big of a deal.
But now that I am officially home for good, and working out of my house, I would really like to play my game.
I freely admit that I am addicted to Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire.

Is it possible to switch routers without hurting my TV boxes? Maybe I could try another router.

Thanks for your help, once this is solved, I will happily update my post with the resolution for others to benefit from.

Wow, I did not realize that replying to an email in my Outlook inbox automatically posted in the forum.
Good to know, and a nice feature of the forum.

Hi, @Auggie11!

If you are having trouble with this specific game Final Fantasy XV, you can try to open the following ports on your router.

  • TCP: 1935,3478-3480,5223.
  • UDP: 3074,3478-3479,3658

If you need help with opening those ports you can check out our Port Forwarding article, just choose your router model and it will give you step-by-step instructions.

If you have any other questions, let us know!

Thanks for the response, @Auggie11

We would recommend rebooting your residential gateway by briefly pressing the red reset on the back. After it comes back up, try to reenter those ports.

If you still can not enter the ports or you are having trouble with the deleted Xbox port, you can factory reset your residential gateway by pressing and holding the red button for 20 seconds.

After a full reset, any default ports from Xbox should restore and you can attempt forwarding one last time.

If you continue to see issues, please explain what you are seeing or you can send screenshots if that's easier.

Let us know if this helps!
